weekend recap

i feel like i have finally caught up from the weekend. i finished a book, slept (a lot) and spent most of the weekend in DC. after 3 years of living in DC, i finally saw the fireworks on the mall. they were wonderful and i was overcome with pride for being an american and celebrating our freedom in the nation's capital. after the fireworks, the crowds quickly cleared and we walked along constitution to the lincoln memorial. we sat on the steps and just took in the view of the city. it was such a calm, peaceful moment.
